For and against online shopping

FOR AND AGAINST ONLINE SHOPPING

We are already in the year 2015 and the Internet and new technologies are changing many habits. More and more people are used to online shopping instead of in-store shopping.

Shopping online has several disadvantages. The main drawback is the fact that it doesn’t matter how many photos you can see on the website. You’ll never get a true feel for an item until you’ll have it in your own hands. In addition, you could end up receiving an unexpected item. For example: when you buy things that are not the same as what you see on the website, seller’s or distributor’s mistakes, ...etc. Furthermore, there is still mistrust and suspicion of revealing your credit card number. Another disadvantage is the fact that you must have a computer connected to the internet and minimum computer skills. Think of your mother or your grandfather....

On the other hand, there are also some important advantages. The most important is the convenience. For example, you don’t waste time going to the shop, waiting in line and pushing through crowds. Besides, they carry the shopping to your door. Another advantage is the fact that schedules and borders have disappeared. Because of this, you can buy any item on any world website while you are watching a film on your couch a Saturday night. In addition, online items are normally cheaper.

To sum up, online shopping has both advantages and disadvantages. In my opinion, it is not recommended when you don´t know exactly what you want and you need to touch and try it. In all other cases, I prefer and recommend online shopping.
