'El Caloret' speech, fun or lack of seriousness

“EL CALORET” SPEECH , FUN OR LACK OF SERIOUSNESS.
Like every year, last Sunday afternoon the event called “La Crida“ took place in Valencia. The Mayor of Valencia started Las Fallas 2015 with a speech and now everybody talks about it. Rita Barberà went out onto the Torres de Serran’s balcony to make a speech in Valencian language, but the result was a mixture of  languages. She  muddled up  Spanish with Valencian and even made up some new words like “El Caloret“, which will remain forever in the memory of every Valencian.
On social nets, like Youtube or facebook, many people quickly started to make fun of it, but, what the majority of people consider most important is whether it was just a small mistake made by Rita or it was really lack of seriousness.
On the one hand, ABC newspaper says this controversy finished when Rita Barberà explained what happened on Sunday afternoon. She said her mind went blank, and what’s more she had prepared it very well. In addition, She admitted it was her fault, because when she was about to start the speech she wasn´t well enough to make it.
On the other hand, Pablo Motos on a Television program called  “El hormiguero“  thinks, that,  Rita Barberà didn't go blank and  it happened because of other different causes. Although she apologized about it, left wing politicians don’t think it was enough. For instance, Monica Oltra, says that somebody who has been Mayor of Valencia for twenty-four years should speak Valencian fluently.  All in all, she ought to have worked very hard on her speech, make it in perfect Valencian and not try to invent a new language.
To sum up, there are  some people who think El caloret speech was a serious mistake but not that serious and there are other people who think it was a big mistake and she has to resign from the position of Mayor of Valencia. In my opinion, in the future Rita Barberá will be remembered by the Valencians as the mayor who made El caloret speech.
